UH/Lafarge Tarmac Partnership: Research study

Lafarge Tarmac is funding the Centre for Sustainable Communities at a level of £50,000 p.a. for three years; and the funded work is aimed at generating and publicising very practical and useful results through applied research and dissemination. To further these aims, post doctoral Fellows have been recruited and are currently undertaking the first stage of comparative fieldwork in the UK, Australia and the US and will continue to work on sustainable living over the next three years.

Research Fellow Dr Alasdair Jones' (who carried out considerable work in Australia) has made a significant contribution to both academic scholarship and has offered applied research outcomes that helped influence the national debate on this vital topic. Insights from research and other projects will be disseminated as widely as possible, added to the best practice literature, and results used to inform policy makers and opinion shapers.
