Centre hits the Washington heights
The TRB forms an important part of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. Participants are selected on the strength of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. The information-packed program attracted 12,000 transportation professionals from around the world to Washington, D.C., January 11-15, 2015. A number of sessions and workshops focused on the spotlight theme Corridors to the Future: Transportation and Technology.
This year the Director of the Centre for Sustainable Communities, Professor Austin Smyth, presented a paper (co-authored with Dr Luke Kelleher) entitled School Choice and Travel Patterns in Northern Ireland: Economic Social and Environmental Impacts of a Complex System. Useful networking opportunities were developed as the research profile of the Centre is expanded.
